Welcome to French Creek Home Inspections!

The name French Creek is an homage to my father.  Beril Roland Dye was raised along French Creek near Belmont WV and, with only a seventh grade education, he was one of the smartest men I've ever known.  Dad taught me to fix things on my own, but do it well.  He actually read manuals and took the time to learn how things are meant to work.  Thanks Dad!

While not a complete HVAC inspection, a home inspector will look for signs that a more thorough evaluation is advisable.

The Journey

With a BS in Engineering and a Masters in Business, I spent many successful years in corporate America.  Along the way, I also developed a passion for helping people achieve their goal of home ownership. Working with volunteer organizations like Habitat for Humanity and SWAT I learned a great deal about home construction and renovation.

Home inspectors also look for signs of structural issues throughout the home.

Career Change

The transition to the inspection industry began with 200 hours of classroom and field training through a nationally recognized school. After completing the comprehensive NCHILB exam in 2016, I spent many more hours in the field further sharpening my skills with some of the best inspectors in the Triangle. Now I'm firmly established in the business and doing something I truly love!

My Goal

A home purchase is usually our single largest investment, so look at the inspection as a significant step in the vetting process. Rather than just give you a checklist, my purpose is to give you context - to make sure you understand the relevance of any items of concern. You should feel informed, so my request of every client is “call me.” If you have a question next month or two years from now, please call. I may not have an answer, but I often know someone that does.
